August 2010

In this time of a tough economy, it is time to take action to improve your bottom line and reduce your costs both short term and long term.

Greenhouse Gases

There has been a lot of talk about greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. No matter what your stand on this issue, there are some companies that need to calculate their greenhouse gas emissions and report these to the appropriate regulatory agency.  Even if you do not need to report your emissions, it is a good idea to at least roughly calculate their level to document that you do not reach the reporting threshold.

If you do not know where to start, contact CMA LLC. We can assist you in identification of areas of emission and also assist you in using regulatory agency supplied emission factors that will simplify the process.

Please note: Some states have implemented reporting requirements that are much stricter that those of the EPA. If in doubt, contact us for assistance.

Emergency Action Plans

The NFPA has updated its NFPA 1600 which covers needed components in
an emergency action plan. It is quite detailed and requires some areas of planning that are not usually remembered until it is too late.

Look at your emergency action plan and see if it covers all items including how each part of your operation will function if that part is damaged during an emergency. Give us a call if you would like to evaluate your system and make it more functional and effective.
